                                                                                     Adoption Contract

It is the responsibility of Katie’s Critters Small Animal Rescue, Inc. to place this/these animal(s) in an environment compatible with it’s/their needs and to ensure the adoption is in the best interest of both the animal(s) and the adopter.

It is unrealistic to expect a child of any age to assume complete responsibility for an animal. Ultimately, the adult(s) of the household are responsible for the complete care of the animals in the home. Are you prepared to take responsibility for this/these animals should your child/children become disinterested?

I understand that this/these animals are to be adopted as companion animals only. And that THIS/THESE ANIMAL(S) ARE NOT TO BE BRED FOR ANY REASON AT ALL, WHAT SO EVER!! IT IS THE NEW OWNERS OR APPLICANTS RESPONSIBILITY TO HAVE THE ANIMAL SPAYED OR NEUTERED IF THEY ARE NOT ALREADY ALTERED WITHIN 30 DAYS OF ADOPTION DATE.

These are our SUGGESTED Adoption Donations   per animal. 
Guinea Pigs are $25.00 , Ferrets are $65.00, Unaltered Chinchillas are $75.00,  Unaltered Rabbits are $35.00, Degus are $15.00, Hamster/ Gerbils $10.
 These donations help cover the cost of caring for all of our rescues. We greatly depend upon donations to help keep our rescue group up and running. Anything above and beyond the adoption fee that you are willing to donate is GREATLY APPRECIATED! Any adoption/donation fees must be paid in full via Cash, Check, Or Money Order. Sorry, No Exceptions!

Please give careful consideration to the adoption of this/these animal(s) . Animals are NOT toys or short term commitments.
 Please make sure that your lifestyle allows the time, emotional commitment and financial responsibility that this/these animal(s) will need over their lifespan,. (which could very well be over 10 years.) Please Think First!

I understand that Katie’s Critters Small Animal Rescue, Inc. reserves the right to refuse adoption to anyone if we feel it is in the best interest of the animal and or the applicant.
I further understand that Katie’s Critters Small Animal Rescue, Inc. may follow up by phone, or in person, on any adoption to ensure compliance with the adoption contract.
 If for ANY reason you are not in compliance with this agreement, or you can no longer provide proper care for the animal(s), they are to be surrendered back to Katie’s Critters Small Animal Rescue, Inc. or the animals may be removed from the premises by any Volunteer of Katie’s Critters Small Animal Rescue, Inc. and legal action may apply if failure to comply.

ANY and ALL animals adopted from Katie’s Critters Small Animal Rescue, Inc. must be taken home in an appropriate carrier. ( Cat carrier, Small Cage, or Adoption Box)

Katie’s Critters Small Animal Rescue Inc. shall not be held liable for any injury, harm illness, death, or alike caused or inflicted by said adopted animal to any person or other animal. Although some of our  animals have been Veterinary checked we CANNOT GUARENTEE the health of all rescued animals, therefore we are not to be held liable for any adopted animals should they become ill, or pass on after leaving Katie’s Critters Small Animal Rescue Inc.‘s Facility.
WE TRY TO PREVENT ANY PREGNANCIES HERE AT KATIE’S CRITTERS SMALL ANIMAL RESCUE, INC., BUT people do not always tell us the TRUTH when surrendering an animal to us. SHOULD you happen to find out that your newly adopted female is pregnant, you are responsible for taking care of these animals, making sure you find these animals good homes, or surrender the babies to Katie’s Critters Small Animal Rescue, Inc for adopting. We will NOT charge you a surrender fee!

Thank you for choosing Katie’s Critters Small Animal Rescue, Inc. for your new family member, rather than supporting the pet store sale of animals, which encourages any and all unnecessary breeding. Too many animals are here in rescues such as ours.
